PSY 4560: Psychological Assessment

Description

Examines the fundamental principles in the development and use of psychological tests. The course explores a variety of psychological tests, including objective and subjective personality tests, intelligence and achievement tests, neuropsychological tests, and other tests used in special settings.

Objectives

  1. Debate uses of psychological testing.
  2. Explain the importance of psychological assessment.
  3. Research tests of intelligence and achievement.
  4. Describe assessment of normal personlity traits.
  5. Analyze approaches to neuropsychological assessment.
  6. Discuss applications of testing various settings such as industrial, occupational, forensic, and neurological.
  7. Research psycholgical testing in legal settings.
  8. Recommend appropriate psychological tests to solve real-world issues.
