PSY 3480: Psychology of Learning


Learning is a basic behavior that everyone engages in on a daily basis but can be approached in several ways. Major approaches include classical and operant conditioning, social cognitive, cognitive, and developmental view of learning as well as real world applications. (Prerequisite: PSY 1010)


  1. Explain the history of learning in psychology.
  2. Identify the basic principles of conditioning.
  3. Discuss social learning theory in relation to real-world issues.
  4. Describe theories affecting motor skill acquisition and performance.
  5. Compare theories on self-control and choice situations.
  6. Summarize research on learning with respect to methodology.
