Description

Explores various homeland security technology options with emphasis on prevention, protection, mitigation, interdiction/intervention, inspection, detection, and response technologies related to homeland security and first responder operations. Examines terrorists’ use of technology and how evolving technology has changed terrorist attacks and presents future challenges for homeland security.

Objectives

  1. Examine current technologies used in homeland security.
  2. Differentiate personal protective equipment (PPE) employed by first responders.
  3. Explain the impact of weapons of mass destruction (WMDs).
  4. Assess terrorist technological threats to homeland security.
  5. Describe the future of homeland security technologies.
  6. Investigate the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in homeland security.
