HCM 5000: Emerging Issues in Health Administration

Description

Emerging Issues in Health Administration focuses on the role of health administration in the 21st century. Emerging issues in health care at the local, regional, and national levels will be addressed. Learners will personalize the issues by assessing the impact those issues may have on their own real-world health care role and future leadership roles.

Objectives

  1. Characterize the importance of good health in the United States.
  2. Analyze the roles various stakeholders play in influencing the health system locally, regionally, and nationally.
  3. Critique the variations in healthcare delivery in the United States.
  4. Discuss the impact healthcare costs have on individuals and families.
  5. Contrast the American healthcare system with systems from comparable nations.
  6. Examine the future of healthcare delivery systems and health policy.
  7. Evaluate the role quality plays in health care.
