Description

Examines the basic and advanced functions and responsibilities of the fire or emergency services training manager. Specific leadership challenges covered include determining and selecting training needs, selecting and developing training personnel, developing and managing a training budget, and marketing training to internal and external customers.

Objectives

  1. Describe responsibilities and challenges for effective training leadership.
  2. Analyze alternative learning options and trends.
  3. Discuss the process of determining training needs.
  4. Analyze legal and political issues related to training.
  5. Evaluate the effectiveness of a training program.
  6. Discuss the major concepts of budgeting and marketing a training program.
  7. Discuss components of a large-scale/high-risk training evolution.
  8. Develop a career development program for organizational personnel.
