EDU 5700: Digital Strategies for 21st Century Learning

Description

This course is designed to serve as an introduction and exploration of current and emerging technologies and their applications for classroom instruction. An emphasis is placed on highlighting best practices for 21st century teaching and learning with technology as a tool to enrich those experiences for both the teacher and the learner.

Objectives

  1. Describe how technology has impacted personal life as well as business affairs.
  2. Examine common technologies that are prevalent today, such as social media, Big Data, and mobile computing.
  3. Demonstrate the ability to create an interactive audio or video file that can be shared to an audience.
  4. Prepare an interactive presentation that can be shared via cloud technologies.
  5. Examine how classroom instruction can be enhanced by the application of emerging technologies.
  6. Explain the benefits gained by students and working professionals when using 21st century technologies in today’s dynamic environment.
  7. Identify best practices when utilizing technology in the classroom from the experience of both the teacher and the learner.
