CIS 1050: Computer Essentials

Description

Explores computer literacy topics in a very basic, hands-on environment. Presents the fundamentals of computer hardware and software, the Internet, operating systems, and current application software within Microsoft Office Suite.

Objectives

  1. Describe the relationship between digitial basics and computer hardware.
  2. Generalize the impact of software applications on computer software and hardware.
  3. Explain the relationship among peripheral equipment, networks, the Internet, and intranets.
  4. Demonstrate the principles of basic Microsoft Office product functions.
  5. Examine the current electronic media sources to include the components that make the World Wide Web operate with webmail.
  6. Discuss the impact recent trends within the computer industry have on information systems.
