Music Career Day

Waldorf University Department of Music presents a


This special event is geared toward high-school students, their families and anyone interested in learning more about possibilities for different careers in music from music in ministry, sound engineering, composing, music education, performance, arts management, music therapy and more!

Keynote Speaker, Dr. Matt Gender

The 2021 event features Dr. Matt Gender, a concert organist, Director of Music & Worship, and Electroacoustic composer that specializes in granular particle synthesis. Dr. Gender will share details about the past, present and potentials relative to his music career journey through a pre-recorded session, as well as a brief keynote at the Music Career Day Concert, where he will be performing the full Rutter Gloria on organ with the Waldorf Choir, directed by Dr. Emilie Bertram and Alleluia! Laudamus Te with the Waldorf Wind Symphony, directed by Cory Schmitt. Check out some of his work on YouTube.

The days events will include:
5 p.m. – Welcome by the University Administration, Admissions & Music Department
5:15 p.m. – Keynote: Dr. Matt Gender
6 p.m. – Waldorf University Music Department Career Panel
6:30 p.m. – Q & A
7 p.m. – Behind the Performance with WU music students
7:30-8:30 p.m. – Music Career Day Concert Livestream
