Music Career Day

Waldorf University Department of Music presents

MUSIC CAREER DAY

Concert at the Boman Fine Arts Center @ 7:30 p.m. (Participants will be provided a meal before attending the concert.)

This special event geared toward high-school students and their families interested in learning more about possibilities for different careersin music from composing, music education, performance, arts management as well as explore adaptive music strategies.

Keynote Speaker,Dr. Timothy Schmidt

The year’s event features performer and musicologist, Dr. Timothy Schmidt, professor emeritus, who will share his incredible story of his experiences as an international recitalist, recording artist and speaker who maintains an active musical career despite the loss of his sight.

The day’s events will continue with interactive sessions on various music careers to include a focus on accommodations in music for different abilities as well as skill development opportunities.

*Auditions can be scheduled for this day by completing the audition application and indicating that you will be participating in the Music Career Day (waldorf.edu/music-scholarship-application). Those wishing to experience the tour at 1 p.m. and receive the $500 travel grant should plan to have audition between 12-1 p.m.. Those for whom have already participated in a tour should indicate such and plan to schedule audition between 1-2 p.m..

Whether you are able to attend or not, we would love to schedule an individual visit for you or your group to see and experience the campus during the academic year. You can schedule a visit at 9 a.m. or 1 p.m. any day of the week.
