Patti Strukel brings over 20 years of high school classroom experience to her role focusing on preparing future educators. Her background is in social studies, and she has taught numerous courses in grades 9-12 over the years at three different high schools: West Hancock, Fairmont Area and Blue Earth Area. Previous experiences also included coaching volleyball, girls' basketball, softball and track and field. The culminating project of Patti's doctoral program in Educational Leadership was a dissertation that studied how secondary teachers promote student comprehension of informational text.
Patti spends additional professional time working with the Minnesota Council for History Education and Women in Social Studies Education, an organization she co-founded in 2017. Both of these organizations serve as outlets for professional development for teachers in addition to efforts related to advocacy in the field.
Other community experiences over the years have included teaching Sunday School classes and serving on church council.
Patti resides in Minnesota with her husband, Joe, and sons, Grant and Carson.
