Melinda Sletten, B.A.
B.A. in Music, piano – Augustana University; Sioux Falls, S.D.
Mindy grew up on a small dairy farm in rural Lake Mills, Iowa, where piano became a life-long passion of hers. She has played the piano since age 4 and started formal piano lessons at age 7. After graduating from Lake Mills High School in 2004, Mindy attended Augustana University in Sioux Falls, S.D. where she earned her B.A. in music with piano as her primary instrument in 2008. While at Augustana, she also sang in the Augustana Choir, Augustana Chamber Choir, and played trumpet in the College/Community Band.
Melinda spent 4 years as the choir accompanist at Southeast Polk High School in Pleasant Hill, Iowa and 5 years as the choir and show choir accompanist at Johnston Middle School in Johnston, Iowa. She has also been teaching private piano lessons since 2002 at her home, Augustana University’s Piano Preparatory Program and Rieman Music in Urbandale, Iowa.
Mindy also enjoys helping the Lake Mills High School Marching Band, where her husband Nate Sletten is the director, as the flag and rifle supervisor. They have three young daughters, Adeline, Ella and Layla.
