Emily Doerder is an active flutist and educator based in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Equally comfortable on the recital, concert band and orchestral stages, Emily has performed many concerts across the Midwest and in Europe.
She earned her Bachelors of Music degree in Music Education from Iowa State University in 2012, following which she earned her Masters of Music degree in Flute Performance from the University of Minnesota in 2015. Emily’s teachers include Sonja Giles, Immanuel Davis, Julia Bogorad-Kogan and Clara Mortiboy.
Currently, Emily is the instrumental music teacher in the Graettinger-Terril Community School District where she is the sole band teacher for grades 5-12. Her responsibilities include teaching individual lessons, directing concert bands and leading pep band.
