Additionally, he is a contracted Consultant/Subject Matter Expert doing course review of new/existing FEMA/DHS training courses, serve as a Subject Matter Expert (Homeland Defense and Security and Medical) for the Homeland Defense and Security Information Analysis Center (HDIAC), serve as the Counter-Terrorism/Hospital Counter-Terrorism Advisor/Trainer for The Halo Corporation, and regularly contribute to several peer-reviewed professional journals, newsletters, and blogs in the terrorism/counterterrorism and emergency management communities.
On the personal side…in his free time (which is rare these days) he likes to hike, bike and go trail-running. He is also a Muay Thai instructor (he started the program at the University of California San Diego). He also co-hosted a show on OutdoorChannel.com
with a physician buddy of his (boonDocs Wilderness and Travel Medicine) and you can check that out…several episodes up (two dozen more to come soon…in editing), but you cannot make fun of his acting…not his forte.
Good luck everyone and STAY SAFE! Please feel free to contact him anytime via email or cell at 619-569-3607
