Mr. Appleton has twenty-two years of public school teaching experience. He has taught 4th grade, 5th grade, 6-8th grade mathematics, as well as earth and life sciences to middle school students. After teaching in Prescott, Wis. he moved to Minnesota to work for Education Minnesota as a field representative out of their Bemidji office for two years. For the past seven years he has been the Director of Human Resources for both Big Lake and Sartell school districts in Minnesota.
Mr. Appleton is returning to his Iowa roots as he grew up in Dayton, Iowa and completed a two year degree at Iowa Central Community College. His wife Mary is also a native of Iowa and is a graduate of Waldorf College. They are empty nesters with two sons, one daughter, and two granddaughters. Mr. Appleton enjoys hunting, fishing, running, biking, reading and spending time with family. He is very excited about working with students here at Waldorf University and he hopes to make a difference where ever he can.
