Position Duties / Responsibilities
If you’re interested in a career from science to nonprofit management, consider an internship to learn from some of the best in the business.
Every year, we offer hundreds of internships to talented students who get hands-on experience and a look at the inner workings of our world-class institution.
There are important roles for interns in many departments. Depending on skills and interests, interns may assist with anything from fundraising and educational program development to research, collections management, and exhibition development.
Full- and part-time internships at the Field Museum are open to college undergraduates and graduate-level students of all majors, as well as recent graduates. For certain internships, you may be able to obtain funding or academic credit through your educational institution.
We offer both paid and unpaid internships. The educational value of any internship here makes for a memorable and rewarding experience.
You’ll have an opportunity to work alongside other interns who share your interests, as well as scientists and researchers who are global leaders in their fields. Throughout the summer, we offer a full schedule of activities and events just for interns, and you’ll also snag invites to staff events and exclusive exhibition previews.
The icing on this already-excellent cake: interns get free admission to our museum as well as other area museums and cultural institutions.
