General Internship Information
Internship Application Deadline:  April 15, 2019 
Intern’s Title:  HCEDC Administrative Assistant
Internship Timeframe:  Start between May 15 to June 1, 2019 with completion by August 15th, 2018. If interested student would like to start sooner, this is a possibility. We would also consider a intern during another part of the year if needed by student.
Work Schedule (days and times per week):  flexible day hours-20 hours per week

Intern’s responsibilities, tasks, and learning opportunities:
Monitor all forms of Media
Schedule and coordinate director’s schedule
Assist with writing a sending out writing out press releases
Assist with marketing materials and mailings creation and distribution
Work closely with director in the facilitation of our Intern program.
Assist with Event Coordination activities
May be involved and work the Tree Town Festival EDC Booth and Hancock County District Fair.  This would require weekend hours.

Desired Qualifications
Our ideal candidate is someone that can walk into a room of people and cannot leave without making friends along with creativity and thoughtfulness when interacting on line and building relationships.
This candidate should have strong communication skills, writing skills, solid understanding of social media, and ability to multi-task and excellent attention to detail. Should be proficient in excel and other Microsoft office programs.
A major in either public relations, communications or marketing is preferred.
