The Des Moines County Civil Service Commission has scheduled a Civil Service Exam, for a deputy position for the Des Moines County Sheriff's Office. This exam will be held on June 5, 2021 in Burlington. Each applicant will be contacted with the exact testing location.
This testing process consists of two parts:
- Physical fitness performance
- Written examination
Applicants must pass the physical fitness performance standards as set forth by the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy and all sections of the written examination to be eligible for further consideration by the Des Moines County Sheriffs Office.
Certified applicants will not be required to submit to testing on June 5, 2021.
Applicants with passing written test scores from another agency in Iowa, within one year of testing, will not be required to complete the written examination.
Certified Law Enforcement Officers may be eligible to receive a $7,500 hiring incentive, as well as an elevated starting salary.
