North Pole, AK - Waldorf University has opened an office on Eielson Air Force Base in their Education Center to add another level of support to our military and civilian students in and around the Fairbanks/North Pole, AK area. Waldorf University, in addition to having a staff member on base in the education office to answer questions about the over 120 offered programs and help students apply and enroll in classes, will also be offering a limited selection of in-person courses in our designated classroom on Eielson AFB.

Waldorf, in addition to our on-base presence, is already working in the community to establish long-lasting relationships with individuals and organizations throughout the Fairbanks and North Pole areas. Our robust degree offerings, 8-week terms, and flexible course structure allows Waldorf to offer a wide selection of certificate, associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees that will help those in the Fairbanks/North Pole community on their personal journeys in higher education.

Waldorf University is excited to bring our higher education offerings directly to the Fairbanks area and has four in-person events scheduled through the week of April 10. Join Waldorf at one or more of these events to learn about our high standards for higher education and how we plan to get and stay involved in the local community.

  • April 10 – 11 a.m. – 168th briefing at the MXG conference room on Eielson Air Force Base
  • April 11 – 11 a.m. – 354th briefing at the ALS room on Eielson Air Force Base
  • April 12 – 10 a.m. – 168th briefing at the MXG conference room on Eielson Air Force Base
  • April 12 – 4:30 p.m. – Ribbon cutting ceremony with the Fairbanks and North Pole Chamber of Commerce’s at the North Pole Library

Waldorf University prides itself on having a student-centered approach to learning, starting with a full transfer credit audit during the application process to ensure students bring not only previously taken college courses into their program at Waldorf, but earned certificates and, in some cases, work experience. Waldorf University offers full transparency about cost, and has eliminated all hidden, mandatory fees outside of tuition. Even textbook costs for online students are covered by either our loan-a-book program or our textbook grant.

Waldorf’s on-base selection of courses will be a mixture of general studies courses required for most college students and courses those on base would benefit from taking in person alongside their peers. Both military personnel and civilians will have access to these in-person courses, with civilians needing to take one extra step to get sponsored by our on-base representative for base access. Students who elect to take these courses in this scheduled, in-person setting will also have access to the full online environment so no matter what happens, you can take school with you.
