Lamar WombleFOREST CITY, IOWA, December 19, 2017 – Waldorf University is pleased to welcome nationally recognized motivational speaker Lamarr Womble to campus Monday, January 15, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Womble will speak on passion, diversity and inclusion from 10:15-11:15 a.m. in the Atrium.

Womble created Passion for Leadership, a program that gives youth the power to choose in work, school and life. He believes when students are in action around their passions, their dreams can become a reality. He wants the next generation to know that they don’t have to wait to create world changing business, epic school events, creative campaigns, impactful non-profits or powerful projects. They can start impacting society right now.

Womble has been featured as a Tedx and Tedx youth speaker, as well as on MSNBC.com. He has spoken to over 50,000 students since 2008 on passion and leadership.

“We are honored to have Lamarr Womble speak as part of our Martin Luther King Jr. Day activities,” said Waldorf University President Dr. Robert Alsop. “Lamarr’s message is sure to be inspiring, motivational and enlightening for everyone in attendance. His message of passion, inclusion and diversity is relevant to all of us, and is a great message to share on this notable day.”

Womble is part of Waldorf University’s Speaker Series that strives to bring presentations to campus that promote diversity and give students an awareness of different perspectives. The series enables Waldorf University to be intentional about creating a lively community of learning and faith for the campus and the outside community.
