This course will examine psychological theories and research related to gender. The focus of this class will be on empirical investigations that examine gender differences and similarities in behaviors, experiences, and expectations. opics will include gender development, gender roles, and the role of gender in cognitive abilities, physical and mental health, social behavior, power, work, and relationships.


  1. Demonstrate understanding and explain relevant key terminology related to sex and gender.
  2. Analysis the psychological aspects of a number of sex and gender problems.
  3. Critically analysis and discuss the role of gender in your own behavior and experiences as well as in the lives of others.
  4. Explain a theory in gender identification.
  5. Identify and describe the structure of relevant biological functions related to sex and gender health.
  6. Demonstrate knowledge of the theoretical foundations and empirical findings related to sex and gender.
