OSH 4208: Advanced Concepts in Occupational Safety and Health

Description

Advanced Concepts in Occupational Safety and Health includes a comprehensive overview of the occupational safety and health field of study to include the application of quantitative problem solving related to workplace safety and health. This course is also designed to be helpful for students in preparation for the Associate Safety Professional (ASP) and Certified Safety Professional (CSP) exams.

Objectives

  1. Evaluate safety, health, and environmental hazards in the workplace.
  2. Explain important laws, codes, and regulations related to occupational safety and health and the environment.
  3. Recommend appropriate means for controlling safety, health, and environmental hazards.
  4. Perform appropriate calculations regarding the measurement, evaluation, and control of safety, health, and environmental hazards.
  5. Evaluate safety, health, and environmental training and management techniques.
  6. Apply fundamental business principles, practices, and metrics to safety, health, and environmental operations.
  7. Explain scientific facts and concepts that impact the occupational safety and health professional.
