New and Returning Students

Travel and Accommodations- It is required to arrive on your scheduled arrival date so that Waldorf may be completely prepared for your arrival. If you arrive on a long distance fly-in day, please report directly to your residence hall to move in between the hours of noon-10 p.m. The office check-in process will be completed the next day. If you must arrive earlier than your assigned day, you are required submit an early arrival request form to the Office of Student Life. Please note that early arrivals are charged $25/day for this convenience and that the form can be found on the Waldorf University website under Residence Life. Students who have been approved for early arrival may arrive Monday-Friday only between the hours of 9 a.m.-4 p.m. All students who arrive before their scheduled arrival date must be approved and confirmed 72 hours in advance through Student Life ( or (641) 585-8160).

Special request early arrivals will not be allowed to check into the residence halls before August 1 as there will be limited staffing and deep cleaning of rooms occurring from departed summer camps during this time. If you must arrive to Forest City earlier than your check-in date, we recommend the Super 8 (641) 585-1300 or The Lodge Knights Inn (641) 585-5060 for reasonably priced lodging.

We encourage students and families to plan ahead. Housing is not guaranteed if housing forms and the $125 housing deposit are not completed and paid/sent in before students are assigned and arrive.  Students in summer housing not living on campus during the fall will be required to check out by Monday, July 25. Due to limited off campus housing, we encourage eligible students to live on campus for their first semester.

To request a ride from the following locations: Minneapolis Airport, Des Moines Airport, Mason City Airport, Jefferson Bus Lines, (Mason City) Greyhound or Megabus (Minneapolis), please visit our transportation page at Please note that a 72 hours advanced notice and purchased ride pass is required.

Move-In and Check-In Day- All new and returning students will complete an office check-in process when they arrive to campus in the fall. Check-in will take place and begin in Salveson Lobby. Please see schedule for the times and date of your check-in. In addition, students residing on campus will need to move into their assigned residence hall after checking-in at the stations in Salveson. It is highly recommended that students and families arrive early between 8:30 a.m.-10 a.m. on the day of your assigned arrival day to have sufficient time to complete the check-in process with offices and move into your assigned residence hall. If you arrive on a long distance fly-in day, please report directly to your residence hall between noon and 10 p.m. to move in and complete office check-in the following day.

Meals will begin for students beginning the evening of their assigned arrival check-in date.
Please plan ahead as students arriving on a fly-in day or before this date are responsible for their own meals. Warrior Crossing (Atrium) will be open (cash only) for grab and go breakfast and lunch for all students and families on each arrival day.
