Residence Life
Philosophy
As a residential college, Waldorf is committed to providing its students excellent living and learning communities in a variety of living opportunities. Waldorf students enjoy the interaction in an environment that teaches the value of community and inclusiveness. Students are allowed tremendous opportunities to connect with the entire institution and share in the core values of Waldorf College: Community, Service, Critical Inquiry and Lifelong Learning. In the various living and learning communities, these values are expressed through the students’ knowledge, compassion, understanding, justice, respect for all persons, care for the environment, and service to one another. Students are encouraged and supported to achieve success in their academic and co-curricular activities.
Residency Requirement
Waldorf College has a four-year residency requirement in place, which is an intentional effort to strengthen the community of learners we aspire to continue to foster on campus. All full-time students must live on campus and select a meal plan, unless they meet one of the following exceptions:
- The student is married.
- The student has children living with them.
- The student lives with parent(s) and commutes from his/her permanent address within a 35-mile radius.
- The student has transferred in and lived off campus at their previous institution for two or more years.
- The student is 22 years of age or older.
Students who meet one of these requirements are automatically eligible to live off campus.
