Student Organizations
Alpha Chi
Alpha Chi is a coeducational society whose purpose is to promote excellence and exemplary character among college and university students and to honor those who achieve such distinction. As a general honor society, Alpha Chi admits membership students from all academic disciplines. Only students in the top 10 percent of the junior and senior classes may be invited to membership in Alpha Chi.
Waldorf Historia
Waldorf Historia is the college history club that is open for history majors and minors, as well as other members of the campus community who have a strong interest in history. The club hosts many social and academic activities on campus and helps sponsor trips to museums, archives, parks, libraries, and other conferences every year. Global Culture Club
The purpose of the Culture Club is to foster greater awareness and understanding within the College community of the cultures and societies of various countries throughout the world, as well as providing fellowship and encouragement among students of diverse cultures. The club sponsors a variety of activities such as a Global Fest, Culture Show and educational trips. The international students also offer programs to the public of an international nature. Membership of American students is encouraged.
Political Organizations
Political organizations are formed by students wishing to promote student participation in politics.
Ski Club
The purpose of the Waldorf College Ski Club is to create an interest in both cross-country (Nordic) and down-hill (Alpine) skiing. The Ski Club meets during the fall and winter seasons to sponsor films, workshops, and ski trips to area resorts and trails. The Ski Club provides a recreational weekend for ski enthusiasts.=
Amnesty International Club
Amnesty International, winner of the 1977 Nobel Peace Prize, works for human rights throughout the world.
Members support the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and communicate with government authorities to release prisoners of conscience detained because of their beliefs, race, sex, ethnic origin, language, or religion.
Awareness Ambassadors
The purpose of this group is to promote and embrace awareness of differences among all people, working toward unity in Waldorf's community.
Social Warrior Activities Team (S.W.A.T.)
S.W.A.T. is composed of eight students that sponsors entertainment for the Waldorf campus and community. This includes bands, outdoor festivals, theme weekends, formal dances, athletic competition, and novelty acts.
Educational Programs
Educational programs are also offered through the Student Activities Department at Waldorf College. Topics have included healthy relationships, nutrition and health, domestic violence, AIDS awareness, resume writing, and interviewing skills, Awareness Week, and volunteerism.
