RSVP Chosen to Participate in Two Studies
RSVP of North Central Iowa has been chosen to participate in
a new benchmarking study, RespectAbility’s Models
of Significant Service, a program of the National Council on Aging
funded by Atlantic Philanthropies. The purpose is to analyze return-on-investment
and other data to build a powerful business case for nonprofits
to increase their engagement of 55+ adults in leadership and professional
roles.
Iowa has applied and been accepted as a site for Ready by
2010 Quality Counts Initiative, a national, three-year effort
to improve the quality and reach of youth programs and policies
in communities across the country. The Iowa Collaboration Youth
Development is the grantee and has selected two urban areas -
Cedar Rapids and Des Moines - and one rural area - North Central
Iowa - to participate in this initiative. RSVP of North Central
Iowa has been asked by the lead organization, United Way of North
Central Iowa, to participate as one of the ten network providers
to help gather initial data to be used in community-level planning
for the Quality Counts initiative.
