Job Description:
Reports to: Finance Director
Status: Part-time Exempt Employee 32 – 40 hours weekly

This position will assist the Director of Finance with accounting and financial operations of the Foundation.  This position will assist with the day-to-day fiscal and accounting operations of the Foundation including confidential gift recording, reporting, and department administration.   This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented employee with excellent oral and written communication skills. This individual must possess a strong work ethic, must be a strong team player, and must be effective in representing the CFGD to all those served by the foundation.

• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel,  Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Willingness and ability to learn the Foundation’s software program, Foundation Information Management Systems (FIMS).

• Minimum of an Associate’s degree in accounting, or equivalent experience.

• Accounting and Financial Reporting:  Assist Director of Finance with monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statement close.  Create financial reports as required. Assist in the mailing and filing of quarterly and annual donor statements. 
• Contributions/Cash Management:  Processing daily deposits by entering and posting contributions and other receipts.  Handle the Endow Iowa Tax Credit filings. Researching gifts as necessary.
• Accounts and Grants Payable/Purchasing:  Accounts and grants payable (coding, entry, check preparation, due diligence) processing.
• Research:  Conducts research as required related to vendor, donor, or grantee inquiries.
• Administrative Support:  Provides administrative support to the finance department including:  typing, scanning, letters, mailings, copying. 
• Backup: Provides front-desk phone and reception coverage on an as-needed basis.
• Special Projects: Coordinates special projects with other CF departments.  Works on special projects as assigned by the Director of Finance. As needed, provides back up in absence of other finance staff; needs to be familiar with general accounting functions. 
• General: As appropriate, works as a member of interdepartmental teams to ensure the effective and efficient operations of the Foundation.  At all times, demonstrates cooperative behavior with supervisors and coworkers. Other duties as assigned, dependent on organizational needs and employee skills.
