County Recorder's Office, Forest City, IA

The Winnebago County Recorder (located at the Winnebago County Courthouse) is seeking a summer intern.  This experience would include hands on experience with document preservation and archiving.  Duties would include transferring recorded documents from microfilm aperture cards to digital format on computer.   There would also be opportunities for involvement with other computer applications pertaining to document indexing and scanning.  Candidate will be working with knowledge of PDF and TIFF imaging.  Would include experience in other office functions such as phone etiquette, customer service and use of various office machines. 

Internship Timeframe:  May 15 to August 15, 2011
Work Schedule:  8:30am-12:30pm Monday-Friday

Compensation:  Paid at $ 8.00/hr

Desired Qualifications:  Be able to work well with people.
Have a desire to learn in an office setting and have an interest in county government.
Knowledge of microfilm and copy machine preferred but not mandatory.
