Virginia G. Piper Center; Tempe, AZ

The Piper Center for Creative Writing is seeking undergraduate interns. Students
will assist with coordination of Hayden’s Ferry Review, ASU’s international
literary magazine. Interns also coordinate our database, work in our Resource
Center Library monitoring the collection, and are invited to gain event
management experience by assisting staff at readings, receptions, and other Piper
Center for Creative Writing sponsored events.

Interns also complete a special project during the term that enriches their
experience and allows them to explore a specific topic in more detail. Past
projects have been built around the Resource Center Library and its collections,
data management and interpretation, event planning, and marketing and
development for the journal. Students are encouraged to pursue a topic of
interest to them.

Interns work 10 hours per week on a flexible schedule at the Piper Writers
House between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm. Internships are unpaid

These internships are highly competitive. Students can apply by sending a
resume, a letter explaining their interest in the position, and a writing sample to
