The mission of the Waldorf University Education Department is "Prepare engaging teachers to serve a community of learners." Through the Waldorf Teacher Preparation Program, students experience exemplary learning opportunities both on campus and in the area K-12 school districts. Additionally, Waldorf Teacher Education students learn to assume roles as leaders, advocates and servants within the professional setting and the community.

Waldorf University has a state-approved teacher education program through the Iowa Department of Education.

Degree Tracks

  • Elementary Education (K-8), Endorsements in reading, special education, music, or math. Concentrations in science, Spanish, or theatre.
  • Secondary Education (5-12), Endorsements in reading, special education, history, English, math, speech/theatre, biology, or health
  • Music Education, K-12 endorsement
  • Physical Education, K-12 endorsement, coaching endorsement/authorization
