Faculty Achievements and Recognition

Waldorf College Criminal Justice professor, Dr. Wayne Davis, publishes textbook titled "Police-Community Relations: Bridging the Gap."

Dr. Wayne Davis, Waldorf College chair of criminal justice, recently received publication of his textbook "Terrorism, Homeland Security, and Risk Assessment via Research Proposal." His academic research study titled "The Effect of Application-Based Training on the Emotional Intelligence of Criminal Justice Students" was also published in the Journal of Higher Education Theory and Practice. 

Dr. Kristín Taylor finished her book, The Complete Solo Piano Works of  Thorkell Sigurbjörnsson. It is based on and dedicated to the life and musical works of Thorkell Sigurbjörnsson, an Icelandic pianist, composer and good friend of Dr. Taylor. Sigurbjörnsson is internationally known for is works that assimilate seemingly unrelated elements while maintaining diverse styles and genres. 

Dr. Robert E. AuFrance, Director of Theatre/Director of Fine Arts Administration, was an invited guest, recruiter, and workshop presenter on multiple occasions this year.

Dr. Paul Bartelt authored and presented two posters with his students at the annual meeting of The Wildlife Society-Iowa Chapter. He also received a small grant from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources for research. 

Tim Bascom, the new director of Creative Writing, had works published in three literary journals. He also lead a new regional high school writing contest at Waldorf College.

David Rask Behling, associate dean at Waldorf College, helped coordiante MA program proposal, drafted student and faculty handbooks, and was published in a major Minneapolis newspaper.
