As you have heard in recent weeks, the state of South Carolina has been dealing with massive, historic flooding. Dr. Tommy Spotts joined the Waldorf online faculty in the Religion Department recently and is living in an area of South Carolina which has been deeply affected by the rising waters. Dr. Spotts has served as Executive Pastor at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Florence, South Carolina, and is currently planting another church in the area.

FOREST CITY, Iowa | Waldorf’s College Speaker Series presents Amber Galloway-Gallego. She will hold a free hour long presentation that will give the audience a look into the world of deaf culture through the eyes of an American Sign Language (ASL) Concert Interpreter. The presentation will take place on Wednesday, October 14 at 7 p.m. in the Waldorf College Atrium, and is open to the public.

FOREST CITY, Iowa | Waldorf College’s Distinguished Visiting Writers Series welcome poet Lauren Alleyne on Monday, October 12. Alleyne will be reading her work at the Luise V. Hanson Library Lounge from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. The event is open to the public.

FOREST CITY, Iowa | Waldorf College students to make Purple Heart Pledge, sponsored by Crisis Intervention Service. The Purple Hearts Campaign will take place on Wednesday, October 14 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Atrium.

FOREST CITY, Iowa | The first artist in the Arts Midwest World Fest will perform as part of the Waldorf Community Artist Series. Baladino, an Israeli folk band with a wonderful mix of Mediterranean music, was chosen as the first international act to perform in this series.
