Visual artist Mike Lavelle’s artwork debuted in the Waldorf College Art Gallery last month as the latest in the gallery’s series featuring local artists. Lavelle, an Algona, Iowa resident, selected pieces from his abstract expressionism works to display.

FOREST CITY, IA | Waldorf College Theatre will be performing the Tony Award-winning The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee February 12-15 at 7:30PM.

Waldorf College will welcome the holiday season at Christmas with Waldorf, an annual weekend of concert performances, at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 8 at 3 p.m. The concert theme for 2013 is Angels Sing with Joy.

Waldorf’s Community Artist Series welcomes organist Michael Stefanek to Forest City on Sunday, Nov. 24 for a 7:30 p.m. concert at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

The newest exhibit in the Waldorf College Art Gallery takes a close look at some of rural America’s forgotten towns. Matthew Peake, a Waldorf College alumnus and former Buffalo Center resident, set out to capture ghost towns of the Midwest in his show “The Social and Economic Decline of the Rural United States.”

Shakespeare’s classic story of prophecy and murder gets a new look on Waldorf College’s Smith Theatre stage Wednesday, Nov. 20 through Saturday, Nov. 23.

The Waldorf Community Artist Series welcomes the Eastern Iowa Brass Band to Forest City on Sunday, November 10, for a 3 p.m. concert at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The group will be in Forest City as part of the Waldorf Community Artist Series, which has brought celebrated singers, musicians, and other performers from across the nation and world to Forest City for the past 26 years.
