Forest City, Iowa – The swing era will come alive in the Forest City High School Auditorium on Monday, February 18, with the signature harmonies of Five by Design. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.
Based out of Minnesota, Five by Design has been showcasing the big band melodies of the ’30s and ’40s for the past two decades. The ensemble has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, among others, and was recently featured on Iowa Public Television.
Entertaining audiences across the country with five original productions, the group has proved its talents extend beyond vocals to storytelling and comedy. The Kennedy Center debut of Five by Design’s Radio Days was declared “one of the best pops performances of the season” by the Washington Post.
The group will be in Forest City as part of the Waldorf Community Artist Series, which for 25 years has brought celebrated singers, musicians, and other performers from across the nation to Forest City.
