After a successful year of collecting over 500 pairs of shoes for the less fortunate, Waldorf College will continue its rich tradition of community service by expanding the Soles4Souls program further into the Forest City area.
Kyle Hoover is a go-getter. After working with the Forest City Ambulance Service for over a year now, the 21-year-old fire science administration major at Waldorf College is interning at the Mason City Fire Department this summer, marking the start of a brand new internship program for the station.
Waldorf College will offer a variety of summer camps for students who want to explore possibilities and sharpen their skills in the areas of fine arts and athletics. Some camps are days only, while others offer overnight accommodations in the Waldorf College residence halls.
Waldorf alumnus Trevor Garbers '97 will address the Class of 2012 at Waldorf College’s 108th Commencement Ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28.
In a ceremony that will mark an important point in the history of Waldorf College, Dr. Robert A. Alsop will be inaugurated as the 16th president on Friday, April 27. The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the John K. and Luise V. Hanson Fieldhouse, followed by a reception at the YMCA in Forest City.
Waldorf College creative writing professor Joe Wilkins will be reading and signing copies of his new prose collection, The Mountain and The Fathers, at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, in the Salveson Ballroom.
Ten Waldorf College students will present their research on a range of subjects to the Waldorf and Forest City community at the Student Inquirere on April 16 and 17.
