Directed by Waldorf’s Adjunct Instructor of Music Sarah Luebke, nine area students from Waldorf College, North Iowa Area Community College, Mason City High School, and Garner-Hayfield Ventura High School recently traveled to Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill., to compete at the Central Regional National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Competition.

Waldorf College’s Creative Writing Department and the Luise V. Hanson Library are hosting a reading by Waldorf faculty member and author Tim Bascom on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. in the Library Lounge.

Waldorf College’s Amnesty International student group will host guest speaker Dr. Stephen Holmes on Monday, Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Small Pit classroom.

Waldorf College will honor long-time women’s basketball coach Denny Jerome on Saturday, Nov. 9, as the Hanson Fieldhouse basketball court is formally named Denny Jerome Court. President Bob Alsop will lead a dedication ceremony ten minutes prior to the team taking on Graceland University at 1 p.m.

Deb Ryg, a lieutenant with the Clear Lake Police Department and a senior in criminal justice administration at Waldorf College, successfully completed training at the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va., this summer.

Waldorf College’s Iota Chapter of the Alpha Chi Honor Society will induct 13 new members during a ceremony on Sunday, Oct. 20.

Forest City, Iowa – Waldorf College will commemorate the 110th anniversary of its founding on Friday, October 11, 2013. To celebrate, President Robert Alsop has proclaimed the week leading up to Founder’s Day a time of volunteering and community service. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of the college have planned numerous events to celebrate.
