Forest City, Iowa – Kids from kindergarten through 8th grade will learn the basics of soccer in a youth camp organized at Waldorf College from August 1-3.
The camp will run from 9 a.m. through noon all three days, and will focus on the fundamentals of soccer such as passing, shooting and trapping. “The Forest City area has not had a youth camp for soccer in a very long time,” said Kate McArthur, assistant coach of women’s soccer at Waldorf College. “It will be a great learning process with lots of fun games.” The registration is open and the fees for the camp are $38, or $45 with a T-shirt.
The camp is open to local as well as surrounding communities of Waldorf College. “Soccer is one of the most popular sports today,” said McArthur. “Participants will not only have the opportunity to learn the game, but also meet people and make new friends.”
