Waldorf College to Host Open House on March 19

Waldorf College, a four-year liberal arts school, will host an open house on Saturday, March 19 to give prospective students and their parents a chance to visit the campus and learn what the college has to offer.

The event is scheduled 9 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at locations across campus. Registration is 9 to 9:15 a.m. in the Atrium, located between Salveson and Thorson halls. The monthly Open House events typically draw as many as 30 prospective students from across the country and are the best way for students to experience Waldorf College.

“Our Open House events continue to be very successful,” said Carl Childs, director of admissions. “It amazes me that at one point, we were only doing them four times per year. This process has bridged the gap in introducing Waldorf College to the rest of the country. The days of just having visitors from Iowa and Minnesota are gone. We have seen prospects from Canada, Texas, Florida, California and Massachusetts, to name a few. This event is getting bigger and better each month.”

An Open House in February attracted 24 prospective students from Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Texas and Ontario, Canada.

Students will have the opportunity to tour the campus, meet Waldorf students, speak with professors and learn about a variety of degree programs. In addition, prospective students will have the opportunity to meet and question a panel of current Waldorf students. At the same time, parents will meet with faculty and staff members from Student Life.

The following are dates for the next five Open House events:

  • April 16, 2011
  • May 14, 2011
  • June 11, 2011
  • July 16, 2011
  • Aug. 20, 2011

Students must register in advance. To register for the March 19 open house or any future dates, please visit
