Forest City, Iowa – Waldorf College Vocation and Service committee is organizing a fundraising event, Breadline, to raise funds for the local food bank and Kids Against Hunger on Saturday, December 17.
“The purpose is to raise awareness about hunger locally as well as worldwide,” said Cathy Stensland, co-chair of the event and administrative assistant in the financial aid office of Waldorf College. “Breadline will unite the members of the community, church members, and the Waldorf community to fight hunger,” said Stensland.
The community-wide event is asking residents to donate baked bread items, including muffins, scones, quick breads, which will be sold to raise money for the cause.
Bread can be delivered to The Studio on North Clark Street from 12-2 p.m. Saturday, and the items can be purchased from 2-5 p.m. same day.
