Waldorf College, Foundation to Present Honors Day

Approximately 200 awards will be given out on Honors Day April 6 as Waldorf College and the Waldorf Lutheran College Foundation celebrate Honors Day  by recognizing student scholarship recipients, donors and other scholastic achievements.

The event, which begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Waldorf Atrium, features a total of about $147,177 in scholarship awards from Waldorf and the foundation.

“This is one of the highlight events of the year where we can showcase the ‘best of the best,’” said Nancy Olson, director of institutional relations, advancement office. “It’s a wonderful day of celebration where faculty, staff, administration, students and donors all come together under one roof.”

Olson added that the Professor of the Year award will be given on Honors Day and the choir and other groups will provide musical entertainment that day. Special music during the Honors Day program will be include an instrumental piece by Jason Homard (on horn) with vocalists Alicia Danielson and Britt Banks accompanied by Kristin Jónína Taylor, a Waldorf assistant professor of music.  The presentations will be followed by a luncheon for scholarship donors hosted by Waldorf President Joe Manjone.

The family of Charlotte Fredrickson, a beloved, former Waldorf employee who passed away last year, will speak and acknowledge the scholarship that was established in her honor.
