Waldorf College faculty and staff recognized for employment milestones

Twenty-one Waldorf college faculty and staff members were recognized for employment milestones at the annual employee recognition dinner on Friday, April 30.

Recognized for 25 or more years of service were: 
•    Kenneth Hansen (40 years), associate professor of speech and English;
•    Julienne Friday (35 years), professor of sociology and psychology;
•    John Robinson (30 years), associate professor of business;
•    Dr. Marcia Trygstad (30 years), associate professor of education;
•    Linda Harms (25 years), student account manager; and,
•    Darlene Miles (25 years), facilities office assistant

Employees recognized for 15 years included: 
•    Dr. Suzanne Falck-Yi, associate professor of English;
•    Duane Polsdofer, director of financial aid;
•    Ruth Smith, admissions office manager; and,
•    John Staley, housekeeping

Recognized for 10 years of service were: 
•    Janet Berhow, gift processing manager/volunteer, Waldorf Lutheran College Foundation;
•    Chad Brown, head coach, men’s basketball;
•    Jennifer Edwards, administrative assistant, academic affairs; and,
•    Dr. Scott Searcy, dean of assessment/accreditation, professor of mathematics and chair of the mathematics department

Five-year award recipients were: 
•    Bob Elsbury, adjunct instructor of mathematics;
•    Matt Hernes, network systems manager;
•    Kristi Leonard, assistant professor of wellness/department chair/wellness director;
•    Tiffany Olson, assistant professor of communications;
•    Bev Retland, Federal Perkins Loan Officer and Student Insurance Coordinator;
•    Dr. Kristín Jónína Taylor, assistant professor of music,/keyboard area coordinator; and,
•    Terri Van Hove, bookstore assistant/textbook coordinator
