Waldorf College's Financial Aid Office is continuing to grow and we are adding TWO staff members!

We are looking for two Administrative Assistants to support our student financial aid processing. These are full-time, 12 month, non-exempt and benefit eligible positions.  One will support Online processing and the other Residential processing. Waldorf's Financial Aid Office is a fun, dedicated and high-performing team currently staffed by seven employees with over 50yrs of combined financial aid experience.
 
The primarily role of these positions provides the necessary support functions to the Director and other FA personnel that ensure comprehensive and efficient management of Waldorf College’s Financial Aid Office and all correlating services and programs.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Provide friendly and knowledgeable service to students and their families
  • Provide administrative support for the FA office such as answering phones, welcoming students, assisting visitors, and resolving and /or referring a range of administrative problems and inquiries.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, events, appointments and /or similar activities for the FA Director and/or Assistant Directors.
  • Sorts, screens, reviews and distributes incoming and outgoing mail; compose, prepare and ensure timely responses to a variety of routine written inquires
  • Establish, maintain and update student files, databases and records and/or other documents received. Develop and maintain data. May perform analysis and calculations in the processing of data for recurring internal reports.
  • Be sensitive to the confidentiality requirements within the FA office and College in general (FERPA)
  • Know the formal and informal departmental goals, standards, policies and procedures which may include some familiarity of other departments and their goals within the school.
  • Learn and follow federal requirements for proper documentation, procedures and eligibility regarding FA and other government programs.
  • Upload reports to the National Student Loan Clearinghouse.
  • Assist FA Counselors processing student FA award packages and ensuring proper documents are sent to and received from students in a timely manner.
  • Perform miscellaneous job related duties as assigned by the FA director and/or the other FA personnel.  
Requirements
  • Associates degree preferred
  • Must be able to type a minimum of 50wpm
  • Must be able to sit and stand comfortable on a regular basis, have vision sufficient to work for long periods of time on a computer screen, some lifting may be required at times.
  • Proficient in MS office products, especially Word (mail merge) and Excel
