Cathleen spent twenty-four years as an Episcopal minister, the last seven as dean of the cathedral in Des Moines, Iowa. She is blessed to be married to Waldorf professor Tim Bascom. They have two sons Conrad and Luke. Cathleen currently studies creative writing and the environment at Iowa State University, and works for the Guardian Scholars Charitable foundation alongside her teaching at Waldorf. She is very interested in prairie preservation and restoration projects.

Cathleen is married to Waldorf Creative Writing professor Tim Bascom and they have two sons Conrad and Luke. She loves to garden and supports efforts in prairie preservation.
