Wife of Firefighter to Seek Degree in Business Administration

Hero Behind the Hero Scholarship Winner - Laura PaulLaura Paul, of Forks, Wash., is the latest winner of a Waldorf College Hero Behind the Hero Scholarship.

Paul plans to use the scholarship to seek an online bachelor’s degree in business administration with Waldorf, a liberal arts college based in Forest City, Iowa. Waldorf offers residential and online bachelor’s degrees.

The Hero Behind the Hero scholarship, which honors the spouses and children of active-duty public safety personnel (firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMTs and dispatchers) and military men and women, covers tuition for up to 24 months for one specific degree program with Waldorf. Her husband William Paul is a firefighter with Clallam County (Wash.) Fire Protection District No. 1.

Through education, Laura Paul said, “I want to set the example that every mother wants to set for her children: Hard work and doing the right things does pay off in the end.”
