Andrea Rea is an attorney and adjunct professor with over 15 years of experience in the health care industry. Her career has focused almost exclusively on the complex legal, financial and ethical aspects of the delivery of health care. She started her legal career as an associate in the health care and litigation departments of a global law firm, followed by several years as in-house counsel for a Medicare/Medicaid HMO. For the past eight years Ms. Rea has served as Assistant Corporate Counsel of the largest health system in Delaware.

In private practice, Ms. Rea represented pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in multidistrict products liability class action and qui tam litigation, and counseled institutional heath care clients on issues related to risk management, regulatory compliance, licensing, mergers and acquisitions and contract negotiation. She specialized in health care regulation and delivered CME programs featuring EMTALA and other policy issues to various industry groups. Her current role focuses on HIT contracting, negotiating complex transactions, dispute resolution, data privacy and security, information governance, federally funded research, fraud and abuse compliance, and health care innovation.

She is licensed in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware and is an active member of the American Health Lawyers Association.
