Marnie Carroll, Ph.D.

Dr. Marnie Carroll earned her Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Colorado-Boulder in 2002. She received her M.A. in sociology from New York University in 1997, and her B.A. in English and applied social studies from the University of North Texas.

Professor Carroll has over 15 years of university teaching experience in the U.S., Switzerland, and Ireland, and recently spent five years living in Europe. She has worked in criminology, media, and other sectors for many years as a researcher and project manager. She is the author of several books, articles, and essays in criminology/corrections, media/communications, technology, and diversity, and has spoken internationally on these subjects. She is also a creative writer, documentary filmmaker, and painter. She currently lives in New Mexico.
