Steven Bardwell has supervised personnel in organizations ranging from two to four generations. His work experience is very diverse. Some of his responsibilities have ranged from sanitation worker, firefighter/EMT, emergency medical services supervisor, chief fire officer, and college professor.

Much of his leadership and instruction is focused on “outside the box” concepts.

Steven is an experienced instructor and conference presenter. He served as Instructor Chief and Training Coordinator for the MS State Fire Academy. He developed and directed the delivery of many leadership and other courses for public safety personnel and private industry personnel. He developed and implemented the Designated Mississippi Fire Chief program and the Designated Mississippi Chief Fire Officer program.

He also serves as an adjunct instructor for the United States Fire Administration/U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Emittsburg, MD. He has instructed leadership and other courses in twenty (20) states including Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee and Texas.

He has also instructed students from other countries including Japan, Canada, England, Mexico, Turkey, etc.

His educational accomplishments include:
• Senior Executives in State and Local Government (Harvard University – Cambridge, MA)
• M.S. in Executive Fire Service Leadership (Grand Canyon University- Phoenix, AZ)
• B.S. in Fire Administration (The University of Memphis – Memphis, TN)
• Executive Fire Officer (U.S. Fire Administration – Emittsburg, MD)
• Certified Public Manager (MS State Personnel Board).
• Steven is a Certified Advanced Rescue Specialist and has completed many other training programs.

He enjoys fishing, camping, and playing basketball. He has three sons and two dogs.
