The Friends of the Luise V. Hanson Library is a group of books lovers and library supporters who work together to promote and enrich the Luise V. Hanson Library. The Friends group provides a means for members to share their interest in books and learning and participate in the growth of the library.

GOAL
The goal of the Friends of the Luise V. Hanson Library is to enrich the intellectual and cultural environment for faculty, students, and community by promoting excellence in library collections and services, attracting distinguished special collections, and sponsoring special events. The Friends also acts as an advocacy organization by elevating public awareness of and raising funds for the Libraries.
OBJECTIVES:
- To promote personal and intellectual interests in the library’s collections
- To sponsor programs that enrich the cultural life of the community, such as poetry readings and lectures
- To encourage an understanding and appreciation of the role the College Library and its librarians play in educating and supporting our students
- To provide financial support that permits the preservation, organization and display of the College Library’s Special Collections
- To encourage gifts of significant titles and college memorabilia
- To encourage bequests for library endowments and special purchases
If you share a love of learning, we hope you will consider becoming a Friend of the Luise V. Hanson Library. As a member, you will not only join a host of active, talented individuals committed to providing financial support for the further care and development of Waldorf College’s fine library collections, but you will also be entitled to several membership benefits. You will receive copies of the annual publication, along with any other materials printed and supported by the Friends. You will receive invitations to receptions, dinners, lectures, and exhibitions sponsored by the Friends. You will receive borrowing privileges in the Library. Finally, you will have the opportunity to become more involved in the growth and development of the wonderful educational resources of Waldorf College
The membership shall be those making an annual contribution to the organization, classified as follows:
- Student $ 15.00
- Regular $ 40.00
- Couple $ 60.00
- Sponsor $ 100.00
- Associate $ 500.00
- Patron $1000.00
- Benefactor $2500.00
- Heritage Club Member Planned Gifts
- Lifetime Membership includes sustained giving in excess of $10,000.00
