International Financial Aid
Paying for college:
In the United States, students and their parents pay for their own education. The U.S. government will provide some financial assistance to American citizens but not for international students. Scholarships are available for ALL students.
Scholarships:
Each international student receives ONE of these three options of scholarship:
$6000 per academic year: A student that receives a TOEFL score of 530 or higher will receive this scholarship
$5000 per academic year: A student that receives 500-529 TOEFL score will receive this scholarship
Full-tuition per academic year: Lutheran Leader Scholarship is given to one student per year. Details of this scholarship can be read at this link: Lutheran Leader Scholarship.
The only full-tuition scholarship available is reserved for members of the Lutheran faith from so-called Third World Countries, who exhibit great financial need. Recipients of the "Lutheran Leader Scholarship" are expected to be outstanding scholars, leaders in their com munity and church, and have a TOEFL score of 550 paper-based, 213 com puter-based or 79 internet-based.
Work on campus:
International students who qualify may be able to work on campus. It should be stated that competition exists for all jobs and no student is guaranteed of finding a job. An on-campus will not provide enough money to pay the tuition fees. It will just give the student some extra spending money.
