Music Education
Waldorf College offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in music education leading to K-12 Iowa public school certification. Our program emphasizes the development of competency in vocal, instrumental and keyboard skills along with musical function and hands-on teaching strategies. Our students benefit from faculty with years of teaching experience. We offer a unique three-year live conducting sequence which provides students ample opportunity to conduct musical ensembles.
The department of music teams with the department of education at Waldorf to provide students with the practical classroom experience and confidence necessary to enter the teaching profession. We work closely with schools in northern and central Iowa to afford our future educators the real-time opportunities needed for success in a teaching career.
