What does it mean to be an individual in a community? And what happens when an individual's identity and that of the community are in harmony....or at odds? Join us for an exciting season, where we will be engaging our audiences in compelling ways as we explore the dynamics of community.
Our Town

Playwright Thornton Wilder explores the role of the family in community and how the uniquely American town in the play shapes individuals' identities.
The Merchant of Venice

Shakespeare's piercing look at law, bigotry and the transcendence of love. In our annual Shakespeare production, The Merchant of Venice examines how communities can pit its citizens against each other, in this case, the individual versus the law, the Jew versus the Christian, the male versus the female, and the haves versus the have-nots.

Stephen Schwartz's ground-breaking Broadway rock musical retelling Matthew's gospel. In this musical, we will explore how communities can be shaped by individuals. See how the Jesus figure gives voice and identity to his community of apostles, and how each of them develops their own self-identity within this eclectic community.
Peer Gynt
April 7-10, 2010
Playwright Henrik Ibsen explores the individual who disregards the community identity of rural Norway and is left to shape a new identity in his own head. Join us for this Norwegian folktale about discovering the world within and without.
