The Institute of International Education is pleased to announce the opening of the 2009-10 academic year competition for NSEP David L. Boren Scholarships for undergraduate students and NSEP David L. Boren Fellowships for graduate students. Boren Awards provide unique funding opportunities for U.S. students to add important international and language components to their educations.
Boren Scholarships provide up to $20,000 for an academic year's study abroad. Boren Fellowships provide up to $30,000 for language study and international research.
Applications and detailed information on the Boren Scholarships and Fellowships are now available on www.borenawards.org - our newly designed website.
The application deadline for the Boren Fellowship is January 29, and the deadline for the Boren Scholarship is February 11.

Iowa Ready Mixed Concrete Association (IRMCA) is offering scholarships to students seeking degrees in areas of study relating to careers in the ready mixed concrete and construction/engineering industries. Details and an application for the IRMCA 2009 Scholarship Program are available in the Financial Aid office.
Deadline for applications is December 12, 2008.
The IRMCA Scholarship Sub-Committee will gather in January 2009 to evaluate applications and make selections. Winners will be announced at the annual IRMCA Convention in March 2009. If you have any questions about the program, please feel free to contact the IRMCA office at 515-965-4575.

Associate, Bachelor, and Masters Degree candidates with an interest in the visual arts, currently enrolled at a Midwest Regional public or private college or university. No matter what major, if you paint, illustrate, sculpt, design, draw, photograph, or just create art, you are eligible to enter the 2nd Annual Fine Art Finals Midwest Regional Scholarship Competition.
This scholarship competition is dedicated to the promotion of talented and gifted emerging artists at the collegiate level and awards their mastery of technique and excellence of artistic achievement. Finalists and Winners will be selected based on quality, originality, and the creativity of their work.
First Place: $1200
Second Place: $600
Third Place: $300

Des Moines Women' Club Memorial Scholarship(s)
• Applicant may apply for only one of the five memorial scholarships.
• Must be a resident of Polk County or one of the bordering counties.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college, university or technical school.
• Scholarships will be used for tuition and mandatory fees for 2009-10 school year.
• Scholarships awarded on past achievements or future goals, not financial need.

Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services
Bethesda's scholarships and awards program encourages Lutheran youth to develop God-pleasing attitudes and actions toward people with individual differences, and to consider careers in the field of developmental disabilities services. Two $3,000 scholarships will be awarded to sophomores or juniors pursuing undergraduate degrees in any area of service to people with developmental disabilities.
